Trying out 'Ammonia Fuming' wood for the in progress coffee table.
Was just shooting for slightly darker, but ended up really quite dark in 24 hours, and it's penetrated all the way through the wood. I cut one of the samples in half to check. I will need to retry with a shorter time period.
Sadly to bubinga gets pretty muddy and the detail of the grain is much less lively. I might need to fume the top in chucks and then assemble afterwards, with the penetration I think I'll still be able to do some finish sanding.
